Ep. 35: Kelsey Grafton, Artist, Educator and former Arts Administrator

Kelsey Grafton is a multi-disciplinary artist working in diverse mediums, from ceramic, oils, acrylic, watercolor, found objects, metals, enamels, song, and sound.

She recently expanded upon her artistic research with the project, “Homestead to Hometown”, sponsored in part by a grant from the Idaho Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. During this project, she camped on her family homestead near Colville, WA, founded in 1905 by her great-grandparents who emigrated from Germany. She painted en Plein air, hand-harvested clay, and unearthed artifacts from the onsite dump used by her ancestors. The responsive body of work produced through this experience will be on display at The Blue Lantern Coffee House, in her hometown of Lewiston, ID.

Meet Max Mendez, currently serving as Professor of Music and Director of Choirs at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He has been an active part of the Inland Northwest music community for the last 18 years, and divides his time between conducting, teaching and performing. Jessica Bryant is making a name for herself nationally, having just won an award from the American Watercolor Society, and is featured in their 2021-2022 traveling exhibit. She didn't start out loving watercolor, but came back to it while raising her children. Her work is absolutely stunning, and her process is amazingly detailed.

Ep. 31: Suzanne Knutson, Out of the Shadows Theater

Suzanne Knutson is a volunteer board member for the Out of the Shadows Theater, a performing arts organization that brings actors with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Their 2021 production Bye Bye Birdie opens October 29 at the Kroc Center Theater and runs through November 5. Don't miss this great opportunity to see an amazing show and support these actors who absolutely beam on stage. It is a moving experience.

Ep. 29: Matt Goodrich, pianist and instructor for Music Conservatory of CDA

Meet Matt Goodrich, an accomplished pianist whose played musical theater to the Shakespeare Festival, and teaches piano at the Music Conservatory of CDA and Sandpoint. Such high energy from this amazing talent. Enjoy a little sample of his Beethoven, Sonata in E-Flat Major, Op. 81a.
